This banknote was engraved on specially ribbed hemp security paper with short blue silk threads and was called the Wilcox Paper after the American inventor J.M. Wilcox. This is the last issue date of these notes, the largest denomination note ever issued from the era of the National Currency (1874) to 1922 before the period of hyper-inflation.
