Bettie Dickson was born in Adelaide in 1924 and educated at Adelaide High School. She moved to Sydney in 1942 to pursue a career as an actress and soon appeared regularly in radio plays and on the stage, working with such people as Peter Finch and Dick Bentley. In 1950 she emigrated to England and had a long career as a stage, radio and television actress. She also achieved some fame in 'dubbing' the voices of European film stars.
