The earliest papers concern the erection of a memorial to Marsden in Farsley Parish Church in 1866. The other papers date from 1923 to 1966 and relate inter alia to the donation of the Marsden Warehouse to the Farsley District Council and the work of the Marsden Memorial Fund 1931-34, the erection of six Marsden Memorial Homes in 1935, the visit of Mrs. Gaunt to Australia and New Zealand in 1937, the commemoration in Sydney of the centenary of Marsden's death in 1938, the deaths of descendants of Marsden such as Elizabeth Betts and Edith Blaxland, early buildings in Australia and New Zealand associated with Marsden, the history of the Australian wool industry, the donation of Marsden memorabilia to Pudsey Library in 1964, the service in Farsley Parish Church to commemorate the bicentenary of Marsden's birth in 1964, articles and cuttings on the life of Marsden, and photographs of buildings in Farsley and Rawdon associated with Marsden.
