Introduction
Scope and Contents
Photographic prints include scenes in New Zealand, Fiji and one of Canberra. The negatives include images of skiers in Kosciusko and images of the Gallipoli campaign (1915). The lantern slides include images of Fiji, New Zealand and Samoa. The stereographs includes scenes in Australia, New Zealand and New York.

Biographical / Historical
Walter Burke was born in New Zealand and worked in the postal service. He came to Australia with his wife and family (including his son Keast Burke) in 1904. He was a keen photographer, becoming F.R.P.S. in 1896. He was active in the Photographic Society of New South Wales, edited the Australasian Photo-review and ran an advertising agency.
