Brookes was the first Vice-Chairman of the A.B.C. from 1932 until 1940. The series is small, but includes correspondence with H.P. Brown, W.J. Cleary, E.M.R. Couchman and others concerning administrative and policy decisions, as well as much discussion of the Commission's taking over financial and managerial responsibility for celebrity concerts in 1935 and 1940 respectively.
