MS Acc03.301 includes records of the Eureka Youth League comprising minutes, reports, letters, unpublished histories, tape recordings, transcripts, photograph albums, newspapers, card indexes and also printed ephemera, such as flyers, posters, circulars, newsletters and programs.The MS Acc22.153 consignment includes Alan Herbert's 1930s photograph album of the Melbourne Young Communist League and Melbourne New Theatre League; eight loose photographs of Eureka Youth League activities; programme and posters from the Youth Carnival for Peace and Friendship; programme from the Gala Friendship Dance, and; Peace Art Prize Exhibition catalogue.

Blake was a prominent political activist and organiser, leader of the Eureka Youth League in the 1940s and 1950s and its Youth Carnival for Peace and Friendship in 1952. Charles Bresland was active in both the Communist Party of Australia and the Eureka Socialist League (including briefly as National Secretary of the League in the early 50s). Both were active in international socialist and youth organisations.

Bound typescript entitled 'Notes on the development of the Eureka Youth League and its predecessors', by Audrey Blake. Originally compiled 1956 but this copy contains an Afterword dated 1993. Blake was a prominent political activist and organiser, leader of the Eureka Youth League in the 1940s and 1950s and its Youth Carnival for Peace and Friendship in 1952. Also actively involved in international socialist and youth movements.

Youth Carnival for Peace and Friendship - administrative correspondence, 1951-1952 (File) - Box 47, Box 48, Box 49
Administrative correspondence relating to the coordination of the Youth Carnival for Peace and Friendship, held in Liverpool and Sydney, Mar 15-23, 1952. Organised by the National Executive of the EYL, the Carnival incorporated arts, dance, sports, politcal and social programs and events. It was opposed by the Menzies Government. Two lever arch folders of correspondence representing mail 'inwards' and 'outwards' have been decanted into smaller folders as the condition of the original lever arch files had deteroriated and also because the papers are fragile. An index to the arrangement of the correspondence within alphabetical dividers is located in the first folder of each group. The correspondence has been kept in the order in which it was originally filed.
