A series mirroring the breadth of Whittle's work during the last 20 years of his professional life. It reinforces patterns evident in Series 2. It should, however, be noted that Series 1 also reveals summaries (and in some cases, details) of his professional activities and involvement prior to the scan of this series. In some instances, geological maps and charts are attached to the correspondence.
The series is grouped by company name, with each folder in chronological order within its own boundaries. The extant correspondence is only a small proportion of the whole.
