This collection primarily comprises correspondence from Peter Ryan to Graeme Sligo regarding the book "The Backroom Boys : Alfred Conlon and Army's Directorate of Research and Civil Affairs, 1942-46" written by Graeme Sligo. The book covers topics of Army Directorate of Research 1942-1946 - New Guinea, Colonel Alfred Austin Joseph Conlon, Sir Thomas Blamey, The Directorate of Research and Civil Affairs, and The Australian New Guinea Administrative Unit (ANGAU). There is also correspondence between Graeme Sligo and others, including Lieutenant John D.
