The collection comprises papers of Ernest Henry Stanley, who was an Australian railway engineer and writer, and includes correspondence with the editor of The Bulletin magazine, correspondence with the former Australian Prime Minister Andrew Fisher, correspondence and photographs regarding the New Australia settlement in in Paraguay, photographs of various places and railways in South America, genealogy reports regarding Stanley's family history; plus newspaper clippings, diary, documents and publications relating to Stanley's career.

This consignment comprises papers of Ernest Henry Stanley, who was an Australian railway engineer and writer, and includes correspondence with the editor of The Bulletin magazine, correspondence with the former Australian Prime Minister Andrew Fisher, correspondence and photographs regarding the New Australia settlement in in Paraguay, photographs of various places and railways in South America, genealogy reports regarding Stanley's family history; plus newspaper clippings, diary, documents and publications relating to Stanley's career.

Photograph album - Views of the Cordillera, 20 November 1916 (File 1) - Folio-Box 1 (MS10603)

Contains 23 black and white photographs developed in Valparaiso, Chile relating to various aspects of the construction of the railway. These are described by a typed list inserted in the album with annotation reads " A small [illegible] from 'the Man from the Hills' Nov 20th 1916".

Contains more than 140 black and white photographs of various works connected to railway building in Argentina and possibly Chile. This album belonged to Ernest Henry Stanley (EHS).

Includes postcards and more than 15 black and white photographs, featuring railways built by Argentine Transandine Railway Company. photographs were taken at along Las Cuevas, Argentine. Some postcards sent from Los Andes, Chile to Victoria, Australia.

Bulletin, correspondence and articles, 1916-1953 (File 9) - Folio-Box 2 (MS10603)

EHS was a regular contributor to The Bulletin Magazine under the pseudonyms of "E.H.S", "Quetzal" and "Bad Australian" . The documents include a letter from the Editor of the Bulletin dated Dec 1916 in relation to payment for his articles and two cheques; two letters sent from W. E. Fitz Henry, the editor of the Bulletin, to EHS in 1950. Also includes newspaper clipping, articles, bank statements and cheques.
