This consignment comprises both audio and video interviews with Robert Mark, undertaken in 2014, about his experiences as a post WWII refugee and migrant to Australia. Robert B Mark JP (1927-2020) migrated to Australia from France in 1951 having fought as a Yugoslav partisan against Germany. Interned in Sachsenhausen Camp outside Berlin, he survived three years and was demobilised in Trieste Italy and lived in Paris as a temporary resident until migrating to Australia. Upon arrival in Australia, he lived for two years in Bonegilla migrant camp and married Kyra Macready, a refugee from Russia. Robert Mark lived in Mt Beauty and worked on the Kiewa Valley Power scheme. In 1957 their daughter was born and Robert moved to Cooma to work on the Snowy Mountains Hydro Power scheme.
