Symon practised law in South Australia from 1867 until he retired in 1923. He was called to the Bar in 1871 and became a QC in 1881. This series is arranged chronologically and contains partnership agreements, accounts, correspondence with J. S. Way, L. W. Blakewell, E. E. Cleland, H. V. Rounsevell, William Symon, and others, briefs and legal opinions. Also included are papers concerning the cases of Bonney (1889), Shippan (1902), Joseph Vardon (1907) and Gillett (1923).
