Scope and Contents
he papers have been arranged into 25 sections or "volumes" by Weir and include a comprehensive index to the archive. The material relates to gay and lesbian issues, homosexual law reform, the origin and development of the Palm Sunday rallies, the AIDS epidemic and civil liberties, particularly with respect to the gay and lesbian communities in Queensland. Teacher and gay rights activist. Weir took legal action against the Queensland government in 1976 for not employing gays.

MS 8915 comprises 25 files of correspondence, articles, cuttings, reports, minutes, posters and other papers assembled by Greg Weir during twenty years of political activism. The papers have been arranged into 25 sections or 'volumes' by Weir and include a comprehensive index to the archive. The material relates to gay and lesbian issues, homosexual law reform, the origin and development of the Palm Sunday rallies, the AIDS epidemic and civil liberties, particularly with respect to the gay and lesbian communities in Queensland (25 boxes).

The Acc00.059 instalment consists of scrapbooks of news cuttings and loose photographs relating to the peace and nuclear disarmament movements, 1981-1986, two calendars for 1989 and 1992, and one unidentified film. It also includes a photograph album and loose photographs, largely uncaptioned, of members of gay and lesbian communities, 1972-1994 (3 fol. boxes, 1 fol. item).

Posters collected by Greg Weir over approximately 25 years. The posters largely publicise events relating to gay and lesbian issues, women's rights, sexual health, sexual harassment, civil liberties, peace and nuclear disarmament, student issues and education, and politics. The remainder advertise live music events, plays, films and film festivals.
