Series HO 16. Old Bailey Sessions, 1815 - 1849
Mmonthly returns by the Clerk of the Sessions concerning the prisoners committed for trial at the Sessions of Oyer and Terminer and Gaol Delivery for the City of London and County of Middlesex, with the charges laid against them, the verdict and sentence. Age of the prisoners is noted from April 1834. The arrangement of names is in order of the severity of the sentence, from death and transportation for life, to delivered by proclamation. Each month has a separate return for London and Middlesex and from November 1834 (Volume 5, f. 255) the returns are under the general heading of Central Criminal Court with a separate listing for London, Middlesex, Essex, Kent, Surrey and Admiralty...
