Biographical / Historical
Ellis Ashmead Bartlett (1881-1931), journalist, was the eldest son of Sir Ellis Ashmead Bartlett MP. He accompanied the Turkish army in Graeco-Turkish war, 1898; served in South African war; was a special war correspondent with the Japanese army in Russo-Japanese war, 1904; the French Campaign in Morocco, 1907; Italian army in Tripoli, 1911; Turkish HQ in 1st Balkan war, 1912; selected by NPA to represent London Press in Dardanelles Campaign, 1915; MP (Conservative) for North Hammersmith, 1924-1926.
