Heptonstall, who lived in Acton, London, and later Stanbrook, Worcestershire, was the English agent for the bishops of Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Hobart and Auckland. The letters forward requests from bishops seeking priests and discuss arrangements for passages on ships sailing to Australia and New Zealand.(12 letters)
