Poetry Lounge is back by popular demand! In celebration of UNESCO World Poetry Day and Women's History Month, join us for an informal, online poetry evening honouring our wonderful Australian women poets.
Some members may choose to share a favourite poem, while others may simply join and listen to the discussion afterwards.
How does it work?
- Register to attend the event and submit a poem you'd like to share - it doesn't have to be your own work! Send it through to us at friends@nla.gov.au and we'll add you to the reading list
- Members have 5-10 minutes to read their poem and our host Larissa Karpish will facilitate the discussion among the group after each reading
- There is no requirement to share a poem, you are welcome to join and discuss the chosen works, or simply to sit back and listen in for the whole event
Bring your own happy-hour beverage and join your Friends community for this relaxed get-together. Who knows what new works you might discover! Due to time constraints, reading sessions will be allocated on a 'first come, first served' basis. A zoom link will be sent you the day before the event.
This event is for Friends Members only and is free of charge, though registrations are essential.
