Supporting Indigenous Literacy Day
On Indigenous Literacy Day, Wednesday 7 September, join us in celebrating and supporting First Australian authors and publishers. On this day, the National Library Bookshop is donating 5% of their daily online and in-store sales to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
The Indigenous Literacy Foundation is a community-led national charity which supports First Australian authors, publishers and communities. Indigenous Literacy Day aims to raise awareness about the educational struggles faced by Australia’s First Australian communities.
We also encourage you to participate in the Indigenous Literacy Foundation’s National Digital Event: Celebrating Stories, Cultures and Languages. Tune in at 10:30 am AEST or watch online later if you can’t make it on the day.
